Via Franchise List injured rules:
When 2nd tier franchise players come off the IL, they are only protected for the 2 days before being placed on waivers. If they aren't picked up after the 48 hours, then the player will be placed on waivers (on the forum) and the team that claims the player (with the highest priority) will give up a 2nd round pick to the team that lost the player as compensation. If the claiming team doesn't have a 2nd round pick, they would have to give up their 1st round pick. If they don't have a 1st round pick, they would have to give up their 4th round pick plus their 1st round pick from the following season instead. If they don't have a 4th, it would be a 3rd and next year's 1st. If they don't have a 3rd either, they would lose the claim to the next highest priority (so claim these guys too just incase).

Which pick do I get from you? The last round? Correct. If you need to balance them out.
