Reports broke early Wednesday morning that Shaquille O'Neal is on his way to Phoenix to take a physical today, and will be traded to the Suns for Shawn Marion and Marcus Banks if he is medically cleared.
That could be a big 'if' given the state of his hip, but it sounds like this improbable trade is very close to being completed. Miami is also believed to want Marion to sign off on the deal beforehand. Fantasy ramifications could include Boris Diaw becoming relevant again, starting in Marion's spot, while Amare Stoudemire's points, blocks and rebounds could take a hit if Shaq is healthy enough to play heavy minutes for Phoenix. The Suns don't run a five-man fast break, so the theory is that Shaq will not slow them down. It's also possible that Banks could earn significant minutes from Pat Riley in Miami.WTF! are the Suns thinking? This is huge for the Heat and it may not be enough to get them out of this hole they've dug for themselves but man is this huge for my Heat and for Marion's #s... Shaq if and when he gets healthy may start to eat into Amare's #s a little and this should also mean that either Hill or Boris will have more value going forward... Shocking!

This sounds like a crazy ass trade, but I dont think it would be good for Marion at all. Its called the Nash effect, and everyone becomes less efficient once they leave the Suns. Plus he has a bunch of ball hogging losers on his team like Dwade and Ricky "Self triple double" Davis. Marion would still put up numbers but they would be down from Phoenix.

The Nash effect wasn't helping Marion much this season anyways and Wade at this point with all the garbage around him has had to be a ball hog but he was never that before so I can see him just like Melo did when Iverson joined the Nuggets start to give the ball up more often now that he will have another legitimate to dish it to... Marion's #s should only go up because the Heat are so terrible somebody has to pick up the slack...

I don't see any reason why Marion's numbers shouldn't stay the same or be better. People forget he was doing very well before Nash got there in what was pretty much a 1 man show back then.

I see his #s going up he is now pretty much playing for a high school team that could use some real talent around besides a crippled Dwyane Wade...

Marion's 1st game:
15 points, 14 boards, 4 assists, 3 blocks, 3 steals.
I think his boards will go up in Miami.

Marion is the fucking man in Miami!!! 23 points and 18 rebounds!!! Can they be a bonafide playoff team in the future though? They need some high end draft picks or stronger depth (preveribly young bodies).

Yeah I mean they are playing better as a team now and Wade has been much better with Marion around plus the stat that I noticed most was the minutes since both Wade and Marion play over 40 a game so Wade isn't out their alone all the time like he was with Shaq... Maybe they will start to run more too and become more watchable again...

From what I can tell, Wade has actually started to try again over the last few games.
A few weeks ago agaist Toronto, he just looked like a fatty.

Well he won't be fat for much longer if he keeps running up and down the court for 40 minutes... I would like to see another so called all-star player play with a destroyed shoulder at his level...
