All-NBA 1st Team For Week 1
PG- Allen Iverson: 31.0ppg, 8.0apg, and 2.5spg
SG- Dwyane wade: 25.0ppg, 7.6rpg, 8.3apg, 1.3spg, and 1.3bpg
SF- LeBron James: 3.3 3pg, 29.0ppg, 3.6rpg, 4.7apg, and 1.3spg
PF- Shawn Marion: 19.8ppg, 13.8rpg, 3apg, 2.0spg,and 1.5bpg
C- Tim Duncan: 54% FG, 19.3ppg, 10.6rpg, 4.3apg, and 3.7bpg,
My Thoughts On My Choices For All-NBA 1st Team
*PG: When I think about PGs I think court leadership and unselfish play and usually when you get a guy who can average 31pts at the PG position right away you think ball hog but that just isn't the case with "The Answer"...
Iverson has always had a great shooters mentality but he also has great vision in over seeing the court and creating opportunities for his teammates along with his amazing offensive abilities...
Once again he is proving that not only can he play the point but he can play it with great efficiency as he is averaging 8 assist per game to go along with his 31ppg and I dont think that its any question that Iverson is very willing and able to dish the rock at will as he leads his team to victory...
*SG: Dwyane Wade is truly a unique player as he has the size and body of a one guard but he plays the two guard like no other...
Just look at the guys #s and you'll find it interesting to see that a couple of his stat lines may seem a bit odd for a guy of his size facing other two guards every game that are usually a lot bigger but hes still able to avg around 7 boards and a block per game...
Also lets not forget about his unselfish play much like another #3 Allen Iverson that Dwyane Wade can also have his cake and eat it too as he too avgs 8 assists per game to go along with his 25ppg which IMO makes him the obvious choice for my All-NBA 1st Team...
*SF: LeBron James: Who can deny the fact that "King James" is the man?
Im sure as hell not about to deny The King and his rein of dominance over the NBA nation as he continues on his rise to true greatness and on a path that would bring him to a place where he would walk amongst the GODS of this sport and on a path that would also lead him to a place in history where he would sit at his rightful spot on the NBAs most prestigious thrown and a place where he would challenge the crown of the untouchable one his "Airness" Michael Jordan, a man that no one would have ever of thought would be challenged by anyone...
*PF: Shawn Marion: No Amare no problem as Marion has all the tools needed to carry a team on his back...
It also doesn't hurt to have one of the best assist men in the game at your side in Steve Nash but Marion also finds his own ways to contribute to the success of the Suns as he can pull down 13rpg and play some pretty solid D with his 2spg and 1.5bpg to go along with his 20ppg average not bad at all...
*C: I know that you guys might be thinking that Duncan doesn't play enough at the center position to be considered for the All-NBA 1st team Center spot but when your talking about fantasy production and the fact that he does have center eligibility this season you know that all of his owners are going to take advantage of this situation and plug him in at center, a position that could be argued to have the least talent available in which IMO definitly makes him the man at this very spot...
No further explanation is necessary...
All-NBA 2nd Team For Week 1
PG- Steve Nash: 18.5ppg, 12.5apg, and 1.5spg
SG- Ray Allen: 4.0 3pg, 31.5ppg, 5.5rpg, and 2.5spg
SF- Richard Jefferson: 50% FG, 1.7 3pg, 27.0ppg, 10.7rpg, 4.7apg, and 1.0spg
PF- Dirk Nowitzki: 3.0 3pg, 26.0ppg 9.7rpg and 2.0bpg
C- Yao Ming: 21.0ppg, 12.0rpg, 3.0apg, and 4.0bpg
My Thoughts On My Choices For All-NBA 2nd Team
*PG: Steve Nash can easily be argued for the All-NBA 1st Team honors as he is the best when it comes to dishing the rock as he averages 12.5 dimes per game and leads one the the NBAs most exciting fast paced offenses around but its also hard to deny Iverson's dominance on both sides of the court as The Answer definitly earns his spot as a member of the 1st team but IMO Nash comes in at a very close 2nd place...
*SG: One of the greatest rein men in NBA history and one of the nicest most liked guys in the league in Ray Allen holds this spot on my All-NBA 2nd Team...
Allen can flat out shoot the trey and with great accuracy as well but the Seattle Super Sonic can also play some pretty effective D as he gets around 2 to 3 steals a game and can easily light up a score board with the quickness so dont blink...
*SF: RJ earned his spot on my All-NBA 2nd team and not because I like him a lot but because I feel that he earned it with his play in week 1 as he proved to some doubters that he could play along side an offensive power house like "Vinsanity" and still get his...
RJ impressed everyone in his 1st week as he went for two solid back to back double doubles in which he put up 35pts and 11rebs in the first night and then came back the following night to put up another nice performance with 28pts and 13rebs...
Very nice indeed...
*PF: Dirk "Diggler" Nowitzki has started off his season strong and is looking to have another huge year and with Finley out of the picture it was no doubt that he would...
Dirk is a big man that can down right shoot the 3 like its no bodies business and because of his long range abilities he can usually make for some tough defensive match ups for the opposing teams to have to deal with...
Dirk is always going to be an offensive threat to fear but along with his 26ppg also comes around 9 boards and 2blks per game which makes him a pretty damn good well rounded player...
*C: The Ming Dynasty holds this spot on my All-NBA 2nd Team as only his fellow Texas star native Tim Duncan can be considered a better play than Yao...
Yao Ming has gotten off to a strong start this season as he is averaging 21 points and 12 boards to go along with a strong defensive showing with his 4bpg on average but I guess that should be expected from the 7'6" Great Wall Of China as he stands as the tallest player currently playing in the NBA and still pretty young he should continue to be a towering presents in the NBA for a long while at least...
