Alright Pacer Pride and I worked on these last night and he did all off the + & ? parts of the power rankings and I just recorded them for him so I could post them but my half will be in The MaZe's View portion of it as usual... Same shit different year.
SESAME STREET!:
Thee OC Lakers:
(+): As much as you'd like to argue with him, the numbers and back to back titles show it... Kidd and Kobe get stronger with the addition of Devin Harris who should be sick this season. Ben Gordon and Conley at depth can only help the older knees of Kobe and Kidd. Probably the best starting 5 or so in the biz again as OC Lakers hopes to do in the impossible, three peat.
(?): Lee should prove to be his weight in gold, but projected #1 C on his club. PF/C could hurt this club as I don't buy big years from Zach Randolph, Scola, Yi, and Charlie V like OC does.
The MaZe's View: I don't think that this is OCs best team since joining the league when you look at it on paper but he does have some solid parts to work with and a few moves here or there and he will be worthy of top team consideration again. I do think two straight titles justify him being the #1 team over all to start the season off though and he has proven in past seasons to know what he's doing when it comes to building a championship team.
I think that OC is so special that I've given him his own tier once again this year. Welcome to Sesame Street bitches! lol
The Real Fucking Deals:
The Game:
(+): Hate to say it, but his team is probably teh most I've favored of all his teams since joining these leagues. Adding Okur/Biedrins at C in the draft, gives even more credence to stars like Brand, Camby, and Marion who bring the big numbers. Pierce, Ford and Terry are a great trio with Manu waiting in the wings when he's due from injury in the next couple of months.
(?): What does Grant Hill really have left in his tank to be starting for Game, and what has Anthony Parker really ever done? Big Ben is not important to this teams success at all. Brand, Marion, Ford, and Camby some of teh most injury pron players in the last two years or so. If two of those names go down with a serious injury again this year, it could spell big trouble for this ego driven club which wants a sniff at the title.
The MaZe's thoughts: Can't deny the fact that Game has a very deep team this year and Manu could be key come playoff time especially since he stole him late in the draft. Game has always been dangerous in the baseball and basketball leagues since unlike football it's not just two days of cross your fingers and hope for the best you can actually strategize in those two other leagues. Injuries will play a factor as it does with all teams but when you have a hand full of important players who tend to get injured allot then it kind of becomes a bigger problem then in most other cases. Still Game earns a top spot amongst The Real Deal Contenders.
Nets:
(+): JSmoov , VC, Durant, and Melo at the SG/SF is an embarrassment of riches, and Amare and Tyson Chandler as starting Cs should balance out all that scoring from these forwards and guards.
(?): Beno Udrih and Mo Williams as your starting PGs? Sorry but I don't buy that. Depth at C could come into play too if Nets wants to end up back in teh finals again this season.
The MaZe's thoughts: First off once again me and Pride kind of disagreed a bit here as he wanted Krame here and then Nets at 4 but I flet Nets deserved this spot since he did after all make the finals last year and it had to count for something. Nets may not be the most talkative member of the league but he has proven time and time again to be one of the most successful and really when it comes down to it that's all that matters anyways. Wow what a set of SGs/SFs I definitely agree with Pride there and as usual Nets has a hand full of solid players that get the job done. He will be a tough team to beat this year and if I had to choose one team that I would say is a lock for the playoffs this year I would have to say Nets. Just my opinion though.
Kramerica Ballers:
(+): Paul and Iverson, Please don't tease Krame! Foye, rookie Rudy F., Granger and Rondo just add to the best backcourt in the biz' here folks.
(?): Timmy D. will not be pleased by Okafor and Bogut's production by seasons end I just get that feeling the names will look better on paper then on the court. Blatche, how will he perform as the main man in Washington with Haywood out for the seaosn too?
The MaZe's thoughts: Krame once again has a solid team from top to bottom and unlike Pride I actually think Okafor and Bogut will work well with what Tim Duncan brings. "Paul and Iverson, Please don't tease Krame!" Not sure what the hell this means but if it's positive then I agree Iverson and Paul are the shit.
True Contenders:
Squeezycook!:
(+): Right up there with Nets for the best SG/SFs in this league (King James, Iggy, GWall, Allen, Dunleavy, JR Smith, Nate Robinson, and even rook Mayo could be real nice.) Threes anyone? lol
(?): Bosh, can he depend on Collison, KMart, and 1st day fa pickup Birdman Andersen? Nice second tier guys but not stars by any means. Squeezy could run into trouble too with his little friend "Mr. Injury Bug". That would be sad too if Yao did stay healthy all year after Squeezy moved him out last season and after holding onto him for so long.
The MaZe's thoughts: This spot I felt could of been mine just as easily as it could be his but it really comes down to the health of our keepers since we both haven't had the best of luck in that area. We both drafted the rooks with the most potential going into the season but Rose had the better start thus far. I like Squeezy's team allot and both his recent moves I felt were up grades for sure on what he had before so definitely a bonus there as well. Crash could be a fantasy beast if he wasn't such an injury magnet and i actually would prefer him over JSmoov since he brings the d plus he can actually score consistently.
The MaZe:
(+): Great balance at every position, back ups (Could be the backbone of this club against the big clubs this season.)
(?): Without mentioning Wade on an annual basis trying to stay healthy for 70+ games... The attention turns too rookies Brook Lopez and Marc Gasol, can they help out Jefferson and Howard in the paint enough for this team to contend for a self proclaimed title run this season by "King MaZe"?
The MaZe's thoughts: Without giving up too much as far as my strategy for this season goes I will just say I drafted Lopez and Gasol for exactly what they should give me this year and I'm not worried one bit since they both should get the minutes to produce right away. Battier much like Manu but in a lighter sense should provide good #s forme if and when I make a playoff run this year. Even with Artest in the way Battier should get solid minutes since he is a smart player with solid leadership skills and more importantly one of the better defenders on the team. Let's also not forget Artest being a retard and then Yao Ming's and TMac's glass bones. I've worked with less in the past so I feel I'm always going to be a threat especially in a sport that I actually watch and pay attention too unlike my filler sport (Baseball).
Go Raps:
(+): Great depth at PG and SG, someone like Arenas injured or if Calderon or Felton should falter this season...still in good position.
(?): No legit PF prime player and if one of Kaman, Murph or Dalembert go down with an injury it could get ugly fast.
The MaZe's thoughts: Smart 1st round pick taking Calderon when your missing a key PG in Arenas. I like Calderon and think he will emerge into one of the best PGs in the NBA this year and along with Felton and Parker he has a solid base for assists. I don't think he has the big men that most of the top teams have and it might hurt him in the end but then again he could always just take on those teams weaknesses and take them by surprise.
Anchorman:
(+): This new manager should breath new life into this wretched organization. D. Williams and Roy at the point nicely complimented by Yao and Gasol down low, you throw in a TMac and JO (If healthy) you've got a scary looking team inside and out. Greta direction as this team looks like it's got it's act togethre with the right manager.
(?): The only thing scarier then those names are the backs and knees holding this fragile team up. t's not IF with this team, but WHEN this team will get hit by the injury bug. JO, TMac, and Yao spell doom for this club if they go down with a serious injury. Deron Williams the rock of this club is already out for the first two weeks of the season, yikes! Youthful depth is a question mark as well as this season goes on.
The MaZe's thoughts: When you've got the "Glass Wall of China", "Broke Back Mountain McGrady" and J.O. "Ol' Jello Knees" then your probably going to need solid back ups in case they end up in an iron lung before the season is said and done. This team has decent depth but the main names on the team are whats going to carry it until either better options are added or trades are made but injuries are going to be the biggest burden you can pretty much count on that. Not sure why he is ahead of Fatty since this team is such a medical risk but I guess Fatboy get's no love around here.
The Fantasy Lames:
Fatkid:
This team always shows balance on the roster, nothing spectacular then say outside of Dirk at PF, just a steady club across the board usually. Odom, Artest, and B.Miller scream multi-dimesional which Fattie tends to like.
(?): Shaq, Perkins, and Nene which are ratio killers do not really fit into Fattie's way of thinking so why are they firmly planted into this roster? Crawford and Hinrich could see a big dip in numbers with new coaches and players on their respective clubs.
The MaZe's thoughts: Alright you all should know the routine by now and anyone who is placed in this tier will receive no love from me. Fatty is going to fail this is a fact and nothing can change that fact. Fatty should just stick to eating contests and spending his days on the shitter reading dirty magazines he found in Games room while he was away. Let me guess you boys like the fat girls right? You just want to crawl up into one of their roles and hibernate for awhile don't you? lol
Pacer Pride:
(+): This team is built around size and strength led by West and Horford, backing them up is Z, Haslem and twin tower rokkies Oden and Hibbert. Probably the best depth in the league for PF?C combo guys.
(?): Nelson and Blake have to be #2/## guys behind an aging but still ageless PG in Nash. If Oden is out for any time with a serious injury that could easily jeopardize this team's strategy and chance at a playoff spot for the first time after just falling short last season.
The MaZe's thoughts: Oden #1 overall for Pride? LMFAO! Traded a 2nd round pick to get this pick to take Oden #2 overall in the draft? Bahahahahaha! FAILURE!
"If Oden is out for any time with a serious injury that could easily jeopardize this team's strategy and chance at a playoff spot"
Hahahahahaha (I'm fucking crying right now this is some funny shit.) Man were you right on that one 1st game of the season and "Old Face" goes down.
Alright I'm done I got it all out of my system but on the bright side, bahahahahahaha what the fuck were you thinking you could of just as easily drafted him at #7 and he still would of fucked you with an injury? You failed big time here! "The Biggest Fail Of All Time!"
Hey Pride on your way out be sure to stop and ask Roscoe for the directions to Planet Clown because that's where your headed this year. Oden! Get out of here with that shit.
Roscoe:
(+) No arguing the regular season success this team has had with keepers like Rasheed, K.G., and Butler and in recent year BDiddy (who needs to stay healthy for 70+ games for this team to even compete with the big boys.)
(?): Sorry but I am not liking this team at all...SJax is now the man in GS and has to show it, Marvin Williams I feel is not the player Roscoe drafted him as , and Hawes is thrown right into the fire as a starting C for this club.
The MaZe's thoughts: Your a long way from home roscoe Planet Clown is up there not down here in the basement with the rats and Willard who sits right below you. I don't dislike this team as much as Pride seems to but I would like to flush it down the toilet because it's starting to stink around here. lol
Chi-Town a.k.a Willard
(+): Blocks aplenty and rebounding should come easily from all F?C eligible players.
(?): Issues at PG could hold this team back (Eliis suspended 30 days + hurt, Rose's rookie season should come with a few bumps along the way, and Ridnour could be in a timeshare, hell before all is said and done this season.)
The MaZe's thoughts Willard is staring to seem quite content with just sticking around in the fantasy basketball basement and I'm sure he feels right at home with the rats and filthy environment. Maybe if he's lucky they'll bring back government cheese. Well at least that would be something positive to look forward too anyways.
SESAME STREET!:
